South East Champ Kart Series (SECKS) Rules & Regulations


	Everyone must register their kart number. If your number has already been registered by another participant during the season, you may have to select an alternate number. No letters are allowed, unless an exception is requested from, and granted by, the series director. Number registration is good for the current racing season. Each driver must register at the registration table, and draw a pill. In addition, each racer must bring one gallon of fuel with him/her to registration. The minimum driver age to compete is 15 years old. If series director determines that a driver, regardless of age, would benefit from more experience, he/she may be required to start all races (heat and/or feature) at the rear until such time as the race director determines that the racer appears to be more consistent and confident with his/her machine.


	Prior to being allowed to register, all champ karts applying to participate must pass an approved safety inspection to determine that the following equipment and conditions exist. All safety equipment must be operational. All determinations about whether equipment, including drivers' equipment, compliance with these safety rules shall be the sole determination of the supervisors. more details

SCALES

At the end the feature, all designated karts (as determined by series director) must pass over the weigh scales. Failure to do so will result in a DQ.

Track scales will be the official scale and no exceptions will be made on minimum weight requirements. One pound light, you will be disqualified.

If loose weight is found on the kart when it is presented in the scale area, the karter may be subject to immediate disqualification, regardless of whether the driver would meet the minimum weight requirement without the loose weight. The determination of whether the racer will be immediately disqualified, or allowed to weigh without the loose weight, will rest solely with the race director.

After weighing, designated karts (as determined by series director) will go to marked tech area. One crew person is allowed to go to kart.

No pit crew or family member can approach any track or series official to request or argue the finishing order, until SECKS officials have finalized the official results. Failure to comply with this rule may result in the crew/family members’ kart being disqualified in the final results.
